PSA appoint Oceania Representative

October 16, 2013

The Professional Squash Association are pleased to announce they have expanded their management team with the appointment of 34-year-old professional squash player Kashif Shuja as their new PSA Oceania Representative.

Shuja, who has competed on the PSA World Tour on a regular basis for the past 17 years since joining in 1996 as a 16-year-old, becomes the latest area representative to join the PSA ranks to work alongside European Representative Tim Garner and South East Asia Representative Ritwik Bhattacharya.

A graduate of IT from Singapore, Pakistan-born Shuja, who currently resides in New Zealand, will be responsible for providing assistance to current partners and events in the area, attracting new tournaments and ensuring PSA requirements are delivered during event time.

“We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Kashif as our Oceania Representative and we see this as another major addition to the PSA team,” said PSA CEO Alex Gough.

“Oceania is a key market for the development of the PSA and we have no doubt that Kashif will play a major role in advancing our presence in the area.”

Shuja, winner of the 2011 South Australian and Swiss Opens, said; “I’m delighted to join the PSA and look forward to working closely with the team and all of the Oceanic federations to help expand and grow the sport in this area.

“Creating further opportunities for players to compete in top class events, and for fans to be exposed to the fantastic sport of squash, can only be beneficial for the sport moving forward and I am excited about playing a part in those developments.”
