Osborne and Letourneau crowned national junior squash champions

OTTAWA – Top-seeds Tyler Osborne of Kingston, Ont., and Danielle Letourneau of Calgary were crowned the men’s and women’s national junior squash championships which concluded this past Sunday at the Calgary Winter Club.

In the men’s final, Osborne defeated Michael McCue of Sudbury, Ont. Shoihet Albert of Woodbridge, Ont., defeated Seth Cameron of Fergus, Ont., for the bronze.

In boys under-17, third-seed Cole Osborne of Kingston upset top-seed Zachary Leman of Surrey, B.C., in the gold medal game. Calvin wren of Ottawa took the bronze.

In boys under-15, fourth-seed Sam Etjemai of West Vancouver was the winner beating number-one Joshua Hollings in the final. The bronze went to Vince Commisso.

In the boys under-13 there were no big upsets as Michael Mehl defeated Husam Hamour in a battle of the top-two seeds. Andrew Wei won the bronze.

In women’s competition, Letourneau defeated Nicole Bunyan in the final. Lindsay Seginson beat Rachel Au of for the bronze.
